Card games, in particular, are one of the best ways to relax and keep you entertained, either for a brief spell in the doctor’s waiting room or on public transport or for longer periods of time when you just want to chill out.

Card game apps range from simple, easy games that don’t require much concentration, to more complex games that will require all of your focus and keep your brain ticking over. As well as this they cover genres such as trading card games, casino style, fantasy, and traditional card games, and options to play against opponents or go solo. This is a fast-paced, strategic and involved card game from Blizzard Entertainment that offers a lot of fun even though it’s easy enough to play. There are many loyal followers of Hearthstone, and you can join them if you take on the role of the hero (or villain) and use your cards to take control of the battlefield, cast spells, or summon minions. During the game, you will come across characters from the Warcraft universe such as Uther and Thrall.

This is a relatively new action and adventure card game from the Cartoon Network. The app is extremely popular with great graphics, and players across the globe have spent many hours playing Spider Solitaire. There are a variety of themes and the game is pretty addictive and hard to stop once you’ve started.

  1. Hearthstone is cool and all, but I’m still waiting on Gwent to release on mobile after spending most of my time in the Witcher playing this game inside a game.

    TES: Legends seems to be pretty good too and do not forget about Microsoft’s Solitaire Collection, of course.
