You can play with your own deck in the daily mission or take part in live 1vs 1 duels.
Mabinogi also has an effective social community on Facebook as well as an official forum and requires a network connection.
3. Governor of Poker 2 (free)
One of the more interesting card games on this list, Governor of Poker 2 is a mix between the classic game of poker and an RPG game. Providing players with a choice between a cowboy or cowgirl characters along with a customized name, players are tasked with traveling around Wild West towns such as El Paso, Amarillo, San Angelo, and more as they play in poker tournaments and regular cash games in an attempt to gain a reputation for being a poker shark and winning more money along the way. The idea is to build the ultimate deck and characters include Yugi, Joey, Kaiba, and Mai among others.
The experience is enhanced with voices from the anime, monsters with 3D animations, and a world that crosses dimensions. The app has been specially optimized for mobile devices and has intuitive controls and great visuals.
5. HEARTHSTONE (free)
This is a fast-paced, strategic and involved card game from Blizzard Entertainment that offers a lot of fun even though it’s easy enough to play. There are many loyal followers of Hearthstone, and you can join them if you take on the role of the hero (or villain) and use your cards to take control of the battlefield, cast spells, or summon minions. During the game, you will come across characters from the Warcraft universe such as Uther and Thrall.
It’s easy to become totally absorbed in the game and you can craft your deck after some introductory missions that will help you get the hang of how to play. Once you feel ready you can duel your opponents in the arena with an opportunity to win prizes.
6. CARD WARS – ADVENTURE TIME (free)
This is a relatively new action and adventure card game from the Cartoon Network. It took its inspiration from the “Card Wars” Adventure Time episode and features Floop the Pig, warriors such as Cool Dog and the Immortal Maize Walker, and entirely new characters devised solely for this game. It’s quite complex and you’ll need to command your army to do battle across enemy forces using spells to become the ultimate victor.
As you progress through the game you collect your deck of cards for the Land of Ooo. You can also start wars as Princess Bubblegum, Jake, Finn, and others.
7. BLACKJACK21 (free)
This casino card game offers a taste of Las Vegas and a chance to participate with millions of other players. It’s aimed at those over the age of 21 and you can train yourself to become a better BlackJack player with hundreds of different tables, tournaments and challenges, and VIP privilege suites. There’s a weekly challenge to get to the top of the leaderboard and win a prize, and the dealer’s voice and background noises of the casino can be heard to give a more realistic experience. In-game currency ‘diamonds’ can be used to buy special items and these can be earned freely or you can use in-app purchases.
Two things to point out is that the developers of this app don’t advise you to take any success in the game as a guarantee of winning with real money gambling and that the app does not offer real money or prizes.
8. MAGIC 2015 (free)
In this strategy game that’s an extension of Magic: The Gathering you’ll take on the mantel of Multiverse hunter Garruk and use a changing deck from hundreds of cards to hunt down prey. You can unlock additional powerful cards and in multiplayer mode, you can play against your friends or random opponents to increase your cards by winning battle boosters. There’s a detailed tutorial to get you started, and throughout the game, you’ll come across various creatures, use spells against your rivals, and encounter Planeswalkers on Theros, Ravnica, and Innistrad.
Once the Innistrad chapter is completed you can purchase premium boosters via in-app purchases. It’s a relatively simple game but intriguing at the same time, and should appeal to many gamers because of the excellent graphics and high production values.
9. SPIDER SOLITAIRE (free)
This is one of the few free card games for Android that doesn’t feature any in-app purchases at all, so all of the features come as standard. The app is extremely popular with great graphics, and players across the globe have spent many hours playing Spider Solitaire. The game receives frequent updates with the latest update bringing new daily challenges and puzzles as well as new animations. There are a variety of themes and the game is pretty addictive and hard to stop once you’ve started.
