The official Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S III should arrive soon. Reports from last few weeks suggest that by the end of this month (probably on August 29) Samsung will release the Android 4.1 OTA for galaxy s 3. The first official build for the International Galaxy S III has been leaked and we’ve also saw another build surfaced as the date comes closer to the actual final release. The international version of the handset will be updated next week after the Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin.
Another exciting turnout this time for the T-Mobile variant (T999) of galaxy s iii. XDA Developers member LuffarJoh posted up what seems to be an early OTA file for T-Mobile’s Galaxy S III that will take your device to Android 4.1.1. As it was in case with previous leaked ROMs, users willing to try the leaked Jelly Bean build must be running on stock build T999UVALH2. It is also most likely that you will lose root following the flashing process. Further issues to confirm this is indeed a very early build have been discovered: Wi-Fi calling seems to be dysfunctional, and there are a few bugs to work out with the stock browser and video player. Google Now also has its share of issues and users have reported occasional performance issues and lag. If you want to give it a shot you are welcome to visit the dedicated XDA thread for downloading and flashing instructions.
