Samsung Vibrant Android 2.2 Update now through KIES Mini (Official guide)

Samsung Vibrant software upgrade to Android 2.2 (Froyo)The waiting is finally over. If you are a owner of Samsung Vibrant go ahead and download latest Samsung KIES Mini to get the wired Update rather than wait more for Update over the Air. Also on board you’ll find a 5.0 megapixel camera with auto-focus and zoom. You can also capture 720p video. Unfortunately, there’s no led flash but that doesn’t take away from the awesome quality that the camera provides.

T-Mobile posted an official guide describing step by step how to prepare and get the Update on your Vibrant. Let’s move to download and install the Kies Mini on your computer. Next up, on your Android phone, press the Menu Key and tap on the Settings, Applications, USB Settings and choose Ask on Connection option.     Every time I try to update through kies it says failure to connect to model server. I have a samsung vibrant I just got in dec 2010. Any help?

    Guys this won’t always worked I tried everything that t mobile told me to do but no luck my computer keeps saying that it has encountered a problem and looking for a solution blah, blah, blah I’m pretty sure I tried just about everything I could research or think of I think I ran that program about 300 times our more idk lost count after 250 so I just decided to flash a custom rom screw samsung I’m never buying a samsung phone again!!!!!!!!!!! that’s a promise!!!

      Hope it works cost I don’t want 2 risk’bricking’ my Samsung. Galaxy. S gt-i9000 (rooted),but I do want adobe 10.1 flash player,2 annoy those i-phone wannabe Snobs.i’ll do it 2morrow & let you’s know if it works …..Apple H8er

    i updated thru link on adriod forum, load appl, install on computer click finish when done. open appl inorder to update appl to 2.2 version. phone to settings, usb select ask on connection,usb cable 2 phone then

    This worked for me I am now running 2.2 froyo and i didn’t have a problem.

    you guys have to install the drivers from samsung’s website…and this is only for the Samsung Vibrant US…

    Yeah I had that same problem. But now I got 2.2 froyo. Thats because tmobile and samsung told us go use kies mini software what you dont know is that your suppose to download the other samsung software the one that helps you put media on your phone thats what I use to get the update. The samsung kies mini thats thd wrong software you dont even use that because when I use it it never detects my phone at all. So there forr download the samsung software thats like itunes media thats howo got the update. Oh make sure you uncheck usb debugger.

    I have been trying for days to get mini kies to work. My computer keeps hanging on the MTP driver. Any suggestions. I have tried everything I found online.

    This the worst phone I have ever had.I can not believe that they have the customer do all this to make this phone worth the money that it cost. I have had nothing but problems with the samsung galaxy. I will never get another samsung!!

    I read, called t-mobil and did alll the prep work before I even tried run the update nning the update. Everyone said it was is and will be does in no later than 30 mins start to finish. What a lie that is. The software keeps elling me to download drivers, power boost. Well it still does not work. They should send it to my phone like the last updat. I have spent 4 hours on trying differen t things and nothing works. I will never own another samsung phone again!!!!!

    I downloaded 2.2 with the kies mini thing. I took a while for my comp to detect my mobile device, like I had to let it sit for about 5 minutes but then it worked. I now have froyo on my phone but flash player still does not work for facebook flash games and stuff? I don’t know why, if anyone knows please tell me! Thanks

    This worked for me. I downloaded the kies mini when I had windows XP, you have to have internet connection, not tethering to do this, after the download I clicked on the menu on the top left then clicked on Install driver. It worked good.
