Samsung ChatON for Android is a cross-platform Free Global mobile messaging service.

Back in Jun, Wall Street Journal and other rumor suggested Google creating an integrated Global messaging application for Android Smartphone Similar to BlackBerry BBM and recently we’ve seen iOS 5 brings iMessage. Samsung went ahead of Google and is about to introduce their own Global Mobile Communication Service called “ChatON“. ChatON is a cross-platform Free mobile messaging service which will be run on Android, iOS, BlackBerry and bada OS devices, as well as on feature phones, sadly Windows phone weren’t mentioned in the news. The service will feature:
- 120 countries, 62 languages
- Making your communication richer than ever
- Group chat, Multimedia sharing, Trunk
- AMS (Animation Message Service)
- My page and interaction rank
ChatON will allow users to have a 1:1 conversation, group chat, group messaging and even share images, videos, voice messages, contacts over the platform. According to sammyhub “ChatON will be available in two functionality options. The basic one for feature phones that will support sharing of text, images, calendar, contacts. Other function will be for smartphone users that will add few more features like Interaction Rank that shows how much a user is active on the service, comment on user profiles and Animation message which is nothing but a combination of scribbled text and audio”.
ChatON, the free IM service will be showcased at IFA this week and will go live in September in over 120 countries with 62 language support. With such kind of service Samsung will just et more stronger in mobile world.
