As CyanogenMod 9 custom ROM, based on Android Ice Cream Sandwich, is near completion, the developers are already working on the next release. The CM Team even took some time to answer questions about their Jelly Bean based build, that will be available sooner then expected.
Early CyanogenMod 10 based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean have started to surface. Thanks to Google releasing Jelly Bean to AOSP developers can start working on their custom builds for devices. CyanogenMod’s Ricardo Cerquiera managed to get a partially working CM 10 build on the powerful LG Optimus 4X HD. It’s still missing some important functions, like Google Now and seemingly the multitasking overly. Still, other functions such as audio, voice calls, camera and Wi-Fi seem to work just fine. The build is not yet available to the public but it will be soon enough. We hope to see CM 10 builds on as many devices as possible in the near future.
