Rumors suggest Google in rush to release next version of Android OS Ice Cream Sandwich in order to compete head to head with the iPhone 5. While reports popping up iPhone 5 is expected to be announce in September and will launch in October, all of a sudden we saw a few leaked images of Ice Cream Sandwich surfaces online. To be honest, looking at those leaked images we were really disappointed. The leak screenshots were nothing more than just a UI improvement of Gingerbread.
Back in Google I/O when Ice Cream Sandwich were announced Google told us that ICS will merge Android Phones and Tablet in one OS and will bring more refined and Optimized Honeycomb OS to devices. Now what we saw in the leak ICS screenshots is certainly hard to believe.
According to vast sources next Nexus Smartphone which will bring Ice Cream Sandwich will also feature next generation of hardware such as HD Screen, Quad core processor and will also bring huge improvements in performance, up to 1.8x over the current Android OS. The major manufacturer like HTC, Samsung, LG and Motorola are in work to be the one to bring next Nexus phone could named as Nexus Prime. If companies are promised to keep the expected specs unchanged we won’t be able to see Nexus Prime before 2012. Now if Google rush to release a premature Nexus phone and Ice Cream Sandwich that won’t bring any good for Android (as we saw Google rushed to launch Motorola Xoom with honeycomb in the timeframe of iPad 2).
In a recent leaked Samsung roadmap we saw the company preparing a handful Android devices, one of them is Samsung I9250 will feature a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display, with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It apparently will have a powerful 1.4Ghz dual-core processor as and will be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Perhaps, would it be the Nexus Prime? This is the kind of phone we are looking for Ice Cream Sandwich. The above mockup of Samsung I9250 which perfectly tell the story.
Let’s hope someone at Google will read this article. We wouldn’t mind if Google take a few months more to present us what we are hoping to see in Ice Cream Sandwich. Take a minute to add your comment and let us know what you think.
