HTC Officially confirms Jelly Bean Updates for the One X, One XL and One S

Everybody wants piece of Jelly Bean on their Android devices. Why shouldn’t they? The most recent version of Android really takes to another level in terms of speed and smoothness while packing some very useful features, like Google Now. As everyone expects, it’s the manufacturers flagship devices that people focus on and expect updates to arrive asap. The HTC One series of devices has been a success from the start. Now, it’s time for some Jelly Bean smoothness.

Following our recent article about HTC’s update plans, today HTC officially confirmed that they indeed working on delivering Android 4.1 to their One series of devices. Though there is no timetable available, given the smaller step from ICS to Jelly Bean, it is expected that the updates shouldn’t take (too) long. The devices that will get the update, according to HTC, are the One X, One XL and One S. No word about the One V or other popular HTC devices for that matter. Maybe, later on, the list will lengthen. Here is the official statement:

“We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.”
