Google Maps Navigation will start to support true offline navigation this summer

Google Maps Navigation will start to support true offline navigation

Finally true offline navigation support is coming to Google Maps with Navigation. Currently the Google Maps required user to be connected to a Data Plan while they are navigating. Though the application support partially support to remember current route in case you lose data connectivity but you can’t start to navigating a new route unless you are connected to Internet.

According to allaoutphones Google is planning to offer true navigation for Google Maps with Navigation which we think will require user to download maps for their region and save them on phone or SD card. We are not sure if Google will start to charge for downloading Maps or subscription fees, no details info is available yet but one thing is clear it will be full offline navigation.

Offline navigation support is expected to be available this summer through an update to Google Maps with Navigation Application. Stay tuned with us at Facebook and Twitter to keep yourself updated on Google Maps Navigation. source.
