The only thing I find really quirky about it is that it only appears to be able to handle two flow sources on my Motorola Xoom; if you give it more, it develops ‘hot spots’ that lock at the extreme color limit and stay that way; you can drag another flow across it to suppress it for a moment, but it will come back.

To illustrate this, press one finger to the screen for about five seconds, then raise your finger; you’ll get a single bright spot that fades away (or trails off, if you have gravity on). Press two fingers to the screen the same way and release, you get two fading spots/trails. But if you do it with three fingers, one of the spots will remain bright and not fade. With four fingers, one or two spots will remain bright. This may be a fault in the internal algorithm.

It’s also a little odd that the ‘gravity’ appears to be ninety degrees out — if I turn up gravity and create one of the self-perpetuating hot spots, tilting my Xoom toward or away from me makes the flow from the hot spot move right or left, and if I tilt it left or right, the flow goes up or down. Since I normally leave gravity off, I didn’t notice it for a while.

It’s mindless entertainment, but it’s still fun, even with the quirks.
