Yahoo Video Chat for Android

A few days ago we were talking about Yahoo messenger with Video Chat is coming to Android Platform. Well, surprisingly it come s early.  Straight out of the T-Mobile myTouch 4G ROM leak. matthewjulian one of those genius guys over xda forum extracted Yahoo Video Chat apk from the leaked myTouch 4G. He said  it WORKS GREAT!! tested on HTC Evo to HTC Evo with front facing camera. You can grab right from the link below:

Make sure you install both apk files above, the second apk file is the add on for video and voice for Yahoo Messenger Android. If you installed Yahoo Messenger from the market Uninstall it before install these two apk files above. I’ve tested it on Galaxy S to my PC. It’s working great. Share and Enjoy! Source: Xda

        I downloaded these files to my computer by following the links here… but they would not open up on my computer. How do I get them onto my phone?

          regarding on your problem same on me im using also galaxy I9003 based on my research android os froyo 2.2 is not supported for a front camera it will works on back camera only..from skype or yahoo messenger…

      I could download and install in Archos 70 Internet tablet, If you still have a problem, maybe I can help you, mine works perfectly now. And http://www.getandroidstuff.com is the only website who gave clear isntructions and easy to install.

        uninstalled old yahoo messenger and
        installed 2 new APK’s with no error.
        yahoo messenger opens ok and I can sent and recieve msg to/from other yahoo user. how do i start video chat on my archos

    Managed to run on Galaxy S but can’t flip to the front camera. Even with d rear camera, d image is not clear (snowing).

      Front camera on the Archos 70 internet tablet works but flip function also did not.

        o.k. i got it working .. HTC Hero Android 2.1 CDMA .. video chat/call .. it works .. find person you want to i.m., then “menu button”, then tap Camera icon .. your phone will dial that person ..
        thats it .. worked for me ..

          Doesn’t work anymore .. worked great, before update or what ever publisher/developer did …
          Foreclose and video function no longer works
          UNINSTALLED .. HTC Hero 2.1 Android ..
          hope it gets fixed ..

    the camera has to do a upgrade then you have to force a close and it then jams up the galaxy s

    Hey its working in HTC HD2 with android Froyo Sense 2.2 what you need is to download yahoo and the video addon and install yahoo and then video, after try to open yahoo and just update video addon from market and done! “DO NOT UPDATE YAHOO MESSENGER” just update video addon.!

    i have a samsung galaxy tab. Video chat works great however I am having the same issue as others in which flip to front camrra button is disabled and not allowing me to switch from rear camera.

    Any find or hear of a solution?

    You do a really great job. Thanks, all otehr websites jsut talka lot and in the end cannot download YM plug in addon for Video. I have successfully installed it, follwoing your download on an Archos 70 Internet tablet.

    I have the Huawei – Ideos 7″ from best buy. I have the URL and just made it smaller.

    It has a front facing camera, Android 2.1 so I cant get the video to work on yahoo or ANY video chat. I am really wanting Yahoo or Skype to work since you can use them on the desktop too. I know there is others but Ive tried them and nothing.
    If anyone can give me any deals please email me. I even found a cracked ver of Skype that said it will run on 3G. I didnt get it to work. I am emailed the company to ask them what programs/apps will work with the front facing camera. What is it if a front facing camera do if it dosent work. I am hoping it will work in 2.2 or even 3.0 that is made for tables.

    Every time I install them, and try to open it it tells me that I need to install an update for yahoo messenger (that is not compatible with video add in) in order for it to function. My only options are to update the yahoo (and lose video) or exit!

    Ok, I’ve successfully downloaded the Yahoo apks and the messenger app. I tried making a video call but it will only use the back facing camera. Is there a way to switch it to the forward facing camera? I know this question has been asked before, but I can’t figure it out…Help?!

    I got Galaxy 4G and the yahoo app does not recognize my front camera for some reason. Any ideas how to get this fixed ? .. ps. i had no trouble using the front camera on the mytouch 4g.

    - upload image/short video (several share options);
    - send image/short video to a contact (as private wall post);
    - send message to a contact (as a private event or private wall post);

    It works well on HTC Thunderbolt.. but the front camera is rather small and the picture is only 1/2 inch.

    I have a wonder media with the o.s 2.2 and tried downloading it download but it asks for an update to work, on the yahoo Im. apk and yahoo video im. apk.
