After Updating Google+ app for iPhone/iOS users, Google also brings an Updated version of Google+ v 2.6 for Android devices with some unique features. With a complete visual overhaul the update now lets users to start a Hangout directly from Andorid phone (which iOS users can’t); previously join a Hangout in progress, but you couldn’t actually initiate one unless you used the separate Messenger app. You can chose Hangout instead of a phone call or Skype call, Google+ app will ring their phones (if you want), and if someone misses the hangout, they can ring you back with a single tap. The “incoming Hangout” screen even looks like you’re answering a phone call.
Other Improvements include:
- A navigation ribbon that slides in and out, providing quick access to just about everything
- The ability to download photos directly from Google+, and turn them into wallpaper
- The chance to edit posts inline, in case you make any mistakes while on the go
