As Ice Cream Sandwich updates are slowly being pushed by manufacturers, Samsung had their former flagship device updated to Ice Cream Sandwich a while back. Android version 4.0.3 was made available for costumers worldwide by the time the Galaxy Nexus, Google’s front line model, was enjoying some incremental fixes with the 4.0.4 update. In terms of AOSP code, 4.0.4 brings lots of fixes and improvements over the previous version, some don’t apply to the Galaxy S II and their custom TouchWiz interface but most of them do.
SamMobile.com, the source for all Samsung ROM’s and updates, got their hands on an official 4.0.4 build for the Galaxy SII. It has been compiled a week ago, on June 28th, some other details:
- PDA: I9100XXLQ5
- MODEM: I9100XXLQ5
- CSC: I9100OXALQ5
I think it’s safe to assume some of you will want to flash the new version. Even though there is no word about a changelog or even if it’s stable, it might just be better the the version you currently have installed. Don’t forget to backup all your important stuff as the new ROM requires a full wipe. Head over to the source for download liks and other details.
