The task of making each android device feel unique and offering as many features as possible belongs to the manufacturers. While HTC or Samsung have done wonderful job when it comes to the OS interface customizations, other device producers also provide highly appreciated options in this regard. Here we can mention Sony, Huawei or Asus. The latter prefers only some consistent changes over the stock look.
A great deal of Android manufacturers have come to appreciate what Google has done with the interface and opt for this kind of implementation over a unique approach. Asus is among the manufacturers who likes to keep it simple, retaining the most important aspects of the stock look of the OS while adding only features and extra options in terms of apps and widgets. The company added some beautiful yet simple and handy widgets on their newest Padfone 2. Fortunately for us XDA Developer member doc3000 has managed to port such implementations to install and use on our regular android handsets running on ICS or higher.
The Asus Padfone 2 is one of the latest devices on the market, running Android Jelly Bean and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core configuration. The device comes with some highly appreciated interface features that have now been ported and available for any other Android 4.0+ device. First there is the Padfone 2 Weather coming with a stylish design, options to display the forecast for multiple cities and some very appreciated transitions and animations. Last but not least there is the Padfone 2 Clock – a widget in a transparent background format that also displays the current weather conditions.
Both the Clock Widget and the Weather app can be downloaded and installed just as you would any apk. Download Padfone 2 weather apk and widgets apk. If you find it’s not working for your device, you may need to upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and try again.
