As we do every week, here is another great selection of apps for our Android Apps of the Week list and of course they are available to download at no cost.
The world governing body of Football / soccer has released its own app for Android users. With the official FIFA Android app you can get all the latest football / soccer news including the upcoming World Cup next summer, Bundesliga, Barclays Premier League, La Liga, MLS and many more, the coverage of 197 leagues around the world. You can get live match updates, and you can get recaps on video on photo galleries as well. A pretty decent app with the usual sort of design you’d expect from a news-type app. Only the corns we have found is that the font’s a bit annoying otherwise it’s a good app for you football lovers.
Xbox One SmartGlass
Xbox One SmartGlass, similar to SmartGlass for Xbox 360, lets you control your Xbox One as a remote control, access social functions and explore content from your Android devices. The app also lets you use the Android virtual keyboard as an input mode to write messages to other users, navigate the dashboard of the Xbox One from your smartphone or tablet, access to Internet Explorer to surf the Internet, use your device as a remote control to play media content, browse and bookmark content and then download it Xbox One, see your achievements.
Another cool file sharing app just landed in Android Market, it is CShare, capable of transferring data between two or more devices using the WiFi router function of the gadget features. You can send and receive applications, music, videos and pictures quickly without any connection to the internet or use Bluetooth. Its interface is intuitive and transfers are fast and efficient. It is simple and easy to use.
SidePlayer for Android is an interesting music player with a small control panel that appears at the edge of the screen when you need it and hides when not needed. Just drag from the right edge of the screen and shows the controls. Drag again, and away. This way you can change the song of pause playback without having to minimize the currently running app on your devices screen, which can be a game that runs in full screen, YouTube or any other app which you do not want to leave. It will be a great tool for anyone who listens to music while performing other tasks in full screen.
myMail is an interesting email client app with which you can have all your email accounts into one simple, and friendly interface, and very useful for those who are using various email accounts for various purpose. You can have all your accounts in a single app, but not in a same inbox. You can add and switch between the accounts very easily. As with Gmail, drag the left will get a menu where you have control over everything, and left altogether will find several circles with your avatars, each responding to a different account, and if you want to add another, only you have to give the ‘+’ beneath them.
500 Firepaper is an application that uses the photos posted on the site 500px as wallpaper on your Android. With this app, you can randomly change the wallpaper displayed on your Android device home screen, by downloading an extensive options from an online library. The great advantage of this application is that the pictures will change randomly in your smartphone, so you can renew the look too often if you want.
