Asus Padfone 2 : The latest hybrid Android Smartphone + Tablet from Asus is just about to officially get announced.
The Asus Padfone is a unique device. It’s a smartphone that comes with a tablet design to fit the Padfone into a special slot and transform it into a full-fledged Android tablet. The first gen Padfone was one of the manufacturer’s top devices, featuring a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
The Asus Padfone 2 holds many improvements over the first gen. The manufacturer has sent press invitations for the unvealing of the new Padfone. The event is scheduled for the 16-th of this month, in Milan, Italy. Few days before the official announcement, what seems to be the device’s box has been leaked in images on the web. On the box we found an almost complete list of the device’s hardware configuration and we delighted to see Asus taking the hybrid device to a whole new level.
Padfone 2 is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset and a good ammount (2 GB) of RAM for apps. The device’s screen has benefited from a much-needed upgrade, increasing it’s size to 4.7-inchez and boosting the resolution to 1280×720. There is a 13 MP camera on the back, capable of shooting 1080p HD video in best quality. It also features a large capacity battery and comes with built-in NFC. The Padfone Station has also seen some improvements, making it easy to connect and remove the smartphone.
