There is no shortage of good apps to play mp3′s on the Play Store. But to find a good music player is a matter of personal preference. A new type is something most of us would like to try. Let’s checkout XenoAmp Android App in our today’s Android App Reviews.
XenoAmp just reached version 0.22 and it’s still in a very early stage of development. The music player provides an interface completely different from what we have seen with other applications of its kind. It also works to bring all the features some of the best music player applications offer and more. The idea behind the interface is to make it as minimalistic as possible. Each function is accessible through a simple touch, rotate or move. There are widgets, you draw a circle to increase / decrease the volume, click the playlist to start the music, drag to scroll up / down, slide your finger to erase. You can search the music library in three different ways: database, Cover Flow and file browser. Select the files to add to your playlist and listen.
The Green curve shows the progress of the playlist, red is the volume while the progress bar is the big circle. Draw a circle to increase / decrease volume, slide left or right to the next song / previous tap to play / pause. This is the idea behind XenoAmp. Friendly gestures from a simple interface. Audio features include playback without pausing (gapless) on Jelly Bean, audio controls for bass boost, equalizer, virtualizer, etc., automatic room correction, headphone calibration and it plays all audio formats supported by the Android version. Also available are different sound profiles (docking station / car / headphones). The developer has also highlighted some features planned:
Rockbox implementation: a lot of codecs for all Android versions, replay gain, compression and all other features of Rockbox DSP engine;
A single point local search and online media scan.
